Martin Mapenduzi Ojara, Gulu district chairman have said he will rally behind Democratic Party president Norbert Mao in his bid to seek for the parliamentary seat in 2016 general elections.

Mapenduzi said no one should blame him for supporting Norbert Mao in 2016 because it is Norbert Mao who mentored him in the year 2011 when he was Gulu district speaker.

He said Mao among all candidates in Gulu municipality possesses the qualities of a good leader who can drive Gulu district out of its night mare.

Mapenduzi the same breathe refutes rallying support behind former Prime Minister Amama Mbabazi in his quest for presidency. He says Kizza Besigye is a priority to him being a member of the FDC party while Mbabazi is the next option.

Gulu district FDC party chairman Simon Toolit says no candidate from the FDC party picked form to contest for the municipal Member of Parliament seat and the party also have signed a memorandum of understanding with Democratic Party. He offered that Norbert Mao is a true leader for the people of Gulu district and Acholi at large.
